Update v0.1.3: The one with the Volcano


I'm a bit late, but at least I'm uploading on the right day!  Sorry, once again I lost all sense of time and didn't realize today is Saturday.

The bulk of this week's been trying to get this map set up.  Several things made this slower than I expected.

My wave-creation system's not the best, I may want to make a complete level-editor at some point, but I suspect that wouldn't be worth it for the Myth stage of things.  At the moment, it's just a datatable with an array describing what's added to the waves this level.  Not very user friendly to modify, and to preview a wave I need to start the level from the very beginning.  It's also hard to make one-off totally different waves, but it was fun to experiment with it here.

Another factor's just figuring out a layout that's fun without being too long or tedious, while making sense.  My original plan involved a few small lava pools that would hit only a few routes, but...  why wouldn't the enemy just go around?  So that had to change.

The last issue is aesthetics which I decided to work on last.  And then ran out of time on.  So...  no foliage, no ruins, etc.  Just open terrain.

I fully intend to pretty the level up next week, but I still want to get consistent updates despite it not being polished yet.

It's been an interesting learning experience.  Especially the part where it's Saturday!  I never would have realized...



Change log for V0.1.3: The Volcano Rises

New additions:

New level!  The Volcano is the level associated with Kiara, a dangerous place for both you and the Takos!  Check it out!


Changes:

Improved the range upgrades, they were useless before, now they can prove useful at least.  Including speeding up Gura's trident as her range improves.


Bug fixes:

Towers used to target the enemies that have gone the furthest, not the ones that are closest to the end.  Oops.

Actually implemented the optimization I had planned earlier.  Who knew using "delay 1 tick" every tick just meant that that code was running 1-tick behind of where it should be?  Basically everyone?  Yeah, I don't get my mind either.



My plan for the next week is to finish the Volcano level with some polish, start work on Calli's level, and if I have the time I'll work on editing the level descriptions for a more consistent story and style.  (I have a story in mind, I swear.  I just don't want to write it up until I have more stuff in place.)
